Linux Driver Development Engineer - 717701
Description
In this position you will be working in the Intel Architecture Group as a Linux Driver Development Engineer developing server-class solid-state storage technology for Intel's next-generation server platform architecture. You will be responsible for the device driver model of the Linux OS. Architect the interfaces for communicating with hardware, cross-platform solutions. Responsible for security requirements and design decisions implications. Experience in DMA and other techniques for minimizing buffer copies. Knowledge of specific type of device driver being implemented, eg, Storage, SCSI Block Layer, etc. Extensively unit tests their implementation. Can code to standards and integrate with existing solutions. Software development skills (C). Ability to analyze network protocols to troubleshoot networking problems and to recognize and develop network performance solutions [TCP, IPv4 and/or IPv6, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)].
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with seven years industry experience, and:
- 4+ years of experience developing Linux/Unix Kernel and API components
- 4+ years of experience with Unix Kernel design as well as experience working in one or more open-source Unix development processes such as Linux, Open Solaris, or BSD Unix
- 4+ years of experience programing in C language
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in storage technology, as demonstrated through experience developing Software RAID, OS Volume Managers, or RAID firmware highly preferred
- Embedded RAID and I/O processing firmware development
- file systems and file access protocols
