Division: Applications and Services Engineering
In the Bing Geospatial Content Team you can literally shape the way people see the world! That's because we create the photorealistic images and derivative content that show up on clients like Bing Maps, Windows Phone, and the Windows 8 Maps App. Located in sunny Boulder, Colorado, the Bing Geospatial Content Team dreams up new kinds of imagery-based content and drives those innovations through to fully-realized, customer-facing projects that we deploy at scale. For example, we just completed the Global Ortho program, which has been heralded as the largest aerial imaging project ever undertaken. In this project our team acquired high-resolution imagery of the entire United States and Western Europe in just under 2 years - for a fraction of typical industry cost.
Now the Bing Geospatial Content Team is tackling our next huge project. We have an ambitious imagery acquisition commitment spanning multiple years to support our Streetside map experience. Source content will be acquired by cars equipped with proprietary sensor systems to collect data with the highest level of quality while providing the maximum level of efficiency. Each vehicle is equipped with navigation and command and control software to support driver activities and overall fleet management. As a Program Manager on the Streetside content team, you will be responsible for designing new features for on-board software and workflow tracking functions. You will also collaborate with the development and vehicle support teams to ensure features are built, tested and deployed. Finally, you will assist with data analysis of both quality and productivity utilizing existing tools or designing new ones as appropriate.
If you're excited by scale, scope, and tackling tough technical issues, this job may be just the right fit. And oh, did we mention the 300/300 deal? That stands for the 300+ days of sunshine per year in Boulder and 300+ inches of snow at most major Colorado ski resorts!
