Responsibilities
Work in a small-team environment in the creation and testing of commercial software applications - primarily for education and training industries. This position is in a small, nimble group within a large, stable organization. The primary responsibility of this position is to create, test, and maintain automated essay scoring services. The position requires problem-solving skills, attention to detail, concern for data quality, and the ability to multitask.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional programming experience on Unix/Linux platforms
- Professional experience with multiple programming languages
- Experience with Shell and Perl scripting
- Experience using Agile development methodologies
- Commitment to test-driven development
- Detail-oriented, organized
- Ability to work independently and as a contributor in small teams
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
Preferred:
- Experience with XML, rpm, ant, Jenkins, Java, and web services
- Professional testing and QA experience
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- This is our mid-level position. It is not a Senior Software Engineer nor new grad position.
