Oakley is looking for a Category Manager to partner with our Category Director to grow the Arnette business. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity within a large, stable organization. We are looking for someone who can define and develop the Arnette Sun and optical product lines to drive future growth, profitability, and build the brand.

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for defining the product roadmap including style count, segmentation, and market opportunity.
  • Work with regions to understand product trends within each market and help align local design and product needs with corporate goals and global needs.
  • Drive product innovation and technology roadmap with R&D teams.
  • Develop product and price competitive analyses via field visits, trade and consumer journals, market feedback and sales data.
  • Analyze performance of current products, monitor market feedback, and report to management team.
  • Develop comprehensive design briefs including product need, consumer focus, volume expectations, price, and margin requirements.
  • Determine product pricing based on competitive positioning and target gross margins.
  • Define SKU count, colors, and assess sku productivity.
  • Work with design and engineering during product development to ensure requirements are met.
  • Attend sales meetings and trade shows to communicate important product stories and consolidate feedback.
  • Give input to the marketing campaigns: athletes, brand story, and technology highlights.
  • Identify sales tools and training required to communicate and differentiate product stories.
  • Take product stories, samples, sales tools and comprehensive training into market and execute train the trainer where necessary.
  • Work with cross functional partners to develop meaningful product forecasts, manage global inventory levels, and reconcile forecasts to overall budget.
  • Manage in-season inventory, pricing markdown cadence, retail velocity, and EOL strategies.
  • Coordinate product launch schedule and deliverables with design, engineering, manufacturing, sales, and marketing.
  • Coordinate product samples for tradeshows, PR, photo shoots, etc.
  • Communicate development status to sales, marketing, and executives.

THE QUALIFIERS:

  • Proven ability to drive a product line through a strong growth stage.
  • BA/BS in Engineering or Marketing plus 5 years industry experience in a product management role.
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills and a passion for data-driven decisions.
  • Effective communicator and presenter with strong leadership skills.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial perspective on business.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Previous experience communicating complex information to multiple individuals/audiences, both in writing and verbally, is required.
  • Proficiency working in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.

STOKED IF YOU HAVE THIS TOO:

  • Experience with SAP Software a plus.
  • MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
