The Embedded Linux Kernel Developer will be responsible for updating revisions of the Kernel while incorporating prior custom modifications. You'll be modifying the Kernel to achieve maximum performance. The ideal candidate will be strong in the network stack. We're looking for a candidate who can go into the Kernel and modify it as opposed to developing applications around Linux.
Essentially, you'll be a key member of the core engineering group working with us to build cool, brand new stuff!
Required Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of Linux Kernel Internals. Experience in Kernel development, debugging and optimization with a focus on the network stack and drivers.
2. Have expert level C/C++ development skills.
3. Ability to cross compile Linux Kernel for multiple platforms.
4. Ability to configure iptables in the kernel, talk about ebtables and netfilters, and can do connection tracking.
5. Experience with OS development - device drivers, I/O controls and pipes, userspace apps including Kernel interfaces.
6. Strong knowledge of multi-cpu, multithreaded architectures and Real Time systems.
A few pluses:
1. Knowledge of CPU Architecture and IO Subsystems such as PCI/PCIe.
2. Experience with Cavium Octeon CPU.
3. Experience with L2/L3 network protocols.
4. Previous experience developing software for Embedded networking products.
