SAIC has a career opportunity for a Network Engineer to work at Camp Pendleton in California.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The qualified candidate will oversee support for garrison radio battalion elements, with the ability to evaluate existing systems, design solutions and make recommendations for internal and enterprise architecture improvements. Assists with the integration of Marine Corps SIGINT systems into garrison and deployed networks. Provides system administration training for Marines performing systems administration duties.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Network Engineer is responsible for full planning, support and implementation of security policies for SCI networks for Marines and Civilian personnel CONUS and OCONUS.
Responsible for design and migrating the customer databases, refreshing the hardware and replacing the existing LAN infrastructure.
Ensure that the network is up and running and provide solutions for Windows and Linux-based operating systems and software on client and server machines.
Provide formal training to Marines on daily system administration and network management.
Evaluate existing network (hardware, software, LAN/WAN, and security) and make recommendations to senior management for enchancements.
Will oversee On-site and remote system administration, networking principles, and system support procedures.
Assist Information Assurance Officer with maintaining Certification & Accreditation and will be in charge of oversight, compliance and reaccreditation of customer hardware.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5+ years related experience.
Formal 2651 MOS training
Requires appropriate DoD 8570 Level III designated position which requires, at a minimum, one of the following certifications: CISA, GSE, SCNA, CISSP or GCIH. MCITP-SA is also highly desired.
Exceptional oral and written communications skills
Ability to work independently, with minimum direction required
Requires TS/SCI Clearance AND CI poly. No exceptions.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Working knowledge of client and server software interaction, web-based application design and support, intelligence software applications.
Experience with WAN or LAN administration, Linux, Windows Server 2003, IIS, and LDAP administration.
Experience with tactical systems and a network environment is preferred.
Experience in the DOD intelligence environment or equivalent government agencies, with field level experience preferred.
