About the Job

Akamai is seeking a dynamic Quality Assurance Engineer who is well versed in networking and has a solid understanding of testing methodologies to join its technical team. As a member of a dynamic team the Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for testing and verifying the performance, reliability, scalability and functionality of Akamai's Carrier Products Group Platform team.

About the Team

Akamai¹s Carrier Products Division is responsible for developing and selling products for network service providers. These products include CDN SaaS offerings and a whole new line of licensed CDN products sold under Akamai¹s Aura Lumen brand. The Aura Lumen licensed software products InterconnecT with Akamai¹s ubiquitous global network to provide advanced capabilities and global content delivery. The Platform team is responsible for all infrastructure related services including networking, configuration, data and log collection as well as many other core services in support of the Aura Lumen licensed software product line.

Responsibilities:
- Writes and maintains test automation
- Key participant in technical design reviews
- Develops, publishes, and implements test plans & test cases
- Performs various tests to verify and validate new and existing features
- Reviews business needs, requirements, technical specifications

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
- Minimum of 3 years of industry experience
- Minimum of 1 year of QA or automation experience

Desired Qualifications
- Good understanding of networking concepts and web technologies such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP.
- Experience with Linux and open source platforms
- Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
- Experience in Test Automation preferably with open source tools
- Familiarity with C, Perl, Python, Shell
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills
- Able to make independent decisions and be effective with minimal supervisions
- Able to pick up concepts and technology quickly
- Able to work and communicate effectively in a small team
- Experience with Scrum or other Agile Software Development methods a plus
