About the Job

Akamai is looking for software engineers to spearhead its effort to analyze the vast amount of data that flows through Akamai's network. The analysis will focus on fraud detection, threat and attack analysis, reputation identification, pattern matching, and other related fields. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in analysing and interpreting huge amounts of data as Akamai's sees almost 30% of all Internet traffic. We are looking for strong, innovative candidates that can assume this challenge and help Akamai succeed in this area.

About the Team

The team is focused on developing new, innovative products that leverage Akamai's unique visibility into Internet traffic and its highly distributed cloud platform. You will be working on developing new and groundbreaking mobile and Big Data products with global impact.

Responsibilities:
- Be part of the team that designs and builds our mobile network and client-side solutions
- Develop high performance mobile software to accelerate and optimize content and applications
- Develop software that integrates with mobile network elements and other 3rd party APIs
- Embrace best practices surrounding the software development life cycle based on mentorship from technical leaders.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years experience in C/C++ and/or Java Client Server development experience
- 3+ years experience in implementing TCP/IP-based protocol networking in a multithreaded environment
- 3+ years experience in development for Android or iOS and/or Objective-C or Android NDK with internals development experience

Desired Qualifications
- Passion to understand and dissect new technologies quickly, responsible, able to work with little supervision.
- Ability to design and build new software features from the ground up; experience with complete development cycles as an individual and in team environments.
- Experience in design and development for Mobile Networking.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix based operating systems (applications, networking and Kernel Internals).
