Overview

As a Benefitfocus Software Engineer in our engineering group, you will be working with a dynamic team of engineering professionals, in an environment where your input and efforts are valued and rewarded. You can expect to work with highly talented software engineers on a large enterprise platform. Within your first few months in the position, you will be expected to have acquired significant application knowledge and participate in strategic design and coding sessions to core parts of the platform. You will also be expected to learn and become familiar with our suite of Middleware products that support the enterprise. As the position progresses, you will aid in the development of strategic enhancements to the platform working and collaborating with senior engineers and architects.

Responsibilities:

• Candidate will be working on a talented, hands on and senior team of core enterprise Java and oracle/SQL server engineers working on critical projects related to the scalability and features of our product.
• Candidate will be working very closely with the scrum teams, architects and infrastructure engineers.
• Candidate will be working in a fast paced delivery environment and will be expected to resolve significant and complex problems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Experience:

• At least 5+ years related hands on coding experience
• Extensive hands on RDBMS coding experience, Oracle PLSQL Strongly preferred, SQL Server a significant plus
• Some Core Java Enterprise coding experience required
• Experience of coding to scale large complex systems.
• Significant opportunity to learn and work with other technologies.
• Experience of scaling large Cloud based Enterprise Applications.
• Strong communicator and ability to learn and engineer huge code base.
• Test driven SDLC mindset.
• Only senior engineers who can show a recent and extended history of hands on coding should apply.
