The Time Warner Cable office currently seeks an IT Manager for our Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Essential Job Functions:
The Manager of Information Technology position provides business and technical leadership and management to a team of direct report IT professionals, interfaces with and supports our customers and works in unison with the rest of the Technology and Applications Development team leadership group (located in Herndon, Virginia) and the Technology Services Group leadership to deliver high quality solutions effectively and efficiently. The qualified candidate will be a team player with solid experience running and managing a department including people management, financial management, program and project management and outstanding problem management skills. They will also have experience in running a development shop, understanding various development methodologies and technologies and overseeing the successful management of IT resources, driving ownership of multiple projects and/or major development efforts in support of multi-department team efforts. This is not so much a technical role as it is a management role; however the qualified applicant will be able to evaluate technical solutions and make decisions based on their IT experience and in and with the support of others such as the Principal Architect, the Principals and senior members of the team. The successful candidate will have the tools necessary to facilitate collaboration across widely diverse people, roles, ideas and organizations with the end goal being a working blend of rules and best practices that support real world challenges collectively coming together with outstanding results. Applicant should possess a solid understanding of the quantitative measurements of and tools necessary to define success for a technology team. Looking for a candidate that challenges the status quo however, most importantly, knows how to effect change with the ardent support and understanding of those being impacted.
Job Requirements:
Strong background in business and technology management and in managing IT and business professionals in the full ALM delivery of enterprise initiatives in a dynamic, fast moving environment.
Outstanding team player with excellent communication skills with a management style that adapts to the environment and situations governing that environment.
Superior people management and leadership skills. Knows how to motivate and develop both individuals and teams with the goal to ensure the best results for the company and the people.
Solid understanding of technology and ALM with regards to software development and support.
Outstanding customer support. Ability to communicate, in a variety of mediums, directly with our customer and senior members of the company, vendors and partners. Skilled at understanding and adapting communications to target audiences.
Ability to make decisions quickly based on information available and clear understanding of risk management principals.
Ability to delegate to and manage Junior, Senior and Principal level team members. Driving ownership and personal and team level responsibility.
Candidate should be a good mentor and have outstanding negotiation skills.
