The Time Warner Cable office currently seeks a/an BI Manager for our EBIS Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary

The BI Manager provides overall BI program management and technical leadership in guiding the analysis, development, and delivery of business requests/issues/requirements, conducting quality assurance testing for all BI deliverables, and providing end user support related to project and operational Enterprise Business Intelligence activities for multiple key business functions. This individual must possess strong planning, leadership, analysis, communication, documentation, presentation, and negotiation skills to act as a bridge between the business and IT at the inception of projects, within the development and quality assurance processes, and as the team that provides on-going support and training to the various business functions served. This role will also oversee a team of professionals who manage and administer the various enterprise BI tools including MicroStrategy and Tableau. This role must have a passion for providing quality BI solutions and oversee their success on-going.

This role provides BI analysis and functional expertise for business requests, defects/enhancements, and projects. As a result, this role requires a solid understanding of Business Intelligence, Business Analysis, BI tools, and the underlying databases providing the "presentation layer" leveraged throughout reporting and analysis. Experience in the following architecture components and applications is a plus: MicroStrategy, Tableau, Oracle 9i/10g, Netezza, WinSQL, Mercury Quality Center, and SharePoint. This role works closely with the Business Leadership, Data Analysis Teams, DBAs, Data Architects, ETL, and other project delivery and technical teams. Background and experience in Business Intelligence is a must.

Essential Job Functions:

The BI Manager leads the internal BI consulting function and liaison between the IT Business Intelligence organization, the functional business clients, various Data Analysis Teams, and the Data Warehouse Architecture Team. This individual assists in leading teams that guide business in determining solid BI requirements, includes other data analysis teams as necessary, performs quality assurance testing for BI deliverables, provides Tier 1 and 2 levels of end user support for all reporting/analysis projects delivered, and improves overall BI processes. Manages training programs to ensure business and IT staff are capable and cross-trained as appropriate in BI tools and content. Excellent leadership and communication skills required to work well with business users, other analysis teams, development teams, admin teams, including off-shore vendor resources for projects and operations. Leads projects end-to-end when data exists and only BI deliverables are required.



Job Requirements:


-Provide consulting to business and technology organizations on best practices for BI to ensure maximum value and actionable information is delivered

-Provides critical input and analysis into detailed project planning when BI is a portion of an overall project

-Manage departmental and project budgets and estimates

-Multi-task in complex environment and balance needs of concurrent projects and support requests.

-Business process leadership and planning within the BI arena

-Customer relationship management along BI lines for the assigned business functions

-Create, publish, and maintain documented analysis artifacts and knowledge captured along BI lines

-Provide support to the business user community by resolving end user questions/issues regarding BI deliverables

-Manage defect/enhancement prioritization and process with business leaders on an on-going basis

-Recommend new or improve existing ongoing training and education programs based on interactions with business and IT

-Create and cultivate formal BI Key User Groups

-Empower end-users through instruction and functional knowledge transfer

-Identify opportunities for business and technology improvements

-Exercise solid judgment and ability to push self & others for results, especially on and off-shore vendor staff

-Drive issues and activities to on-time completion

-Effectively monitor and take action to ensure coordination and effectiveness of all components and activities and decide on issues requiring escalation

-Provide regular monitoring and reporting of BI user adoption and deliverables used.

- Broad Data Warehousing exposure

- Technical expertise in BI system architecture, design, and development

-Deep experience with data warehouse and BI technologies such as Netezza Oracle, DB2 UDB, SQL Server or Teradata, SQL, UNIX, BI tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, SAS 9i, and/or Hyperion

-Good understanding of MPP and or large SMP environments

- Good understanding of database administration, tuning, and space management

- Good understanding of data modeling (Multi-dimensional & ER) and design considerations for analytical systems

-Ideal candidate will have experience managing MicroStrategy 9.x development and administration against data sourced from Netezza



Education and Experience:


Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
