The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a/an Senior Business Analyst for our Information Technology Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary
Time Warner Cable Information Technology Services, currently seeks a Senior Business Analyst for the Care, Sales, Retention & Commercial Applications and Telecom Technology area. This individual will be part of the technology team responsible for a focused group of technology for the Agent Care Portal & Advanced Agent Desktop (AAD) Mobile. The Senior Business Analyst acts as a liaison between the IT development group and business unites for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems. Evaluates new applications and identified systems requirements. Evaluates new IT development and evolving business requirements and recommends appropriate system alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems. Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives. The Senior Business Analyst will be the "subject matter expert" both from a business process perspective and a system functionality perspective for his/her defined areas. The Senior Business Analyst will own the business requirements and sign off that the requirements are being delivered with the end solution.
Essential Job Functions:
Work with business to determine business requirements Work with business, management, vendors and IT to build design based on requirements Hold design review sessions with cross-functional team members (business process owners, Product Development management, IT, other BAs, QA, and vendors to review requirements. Document functional requirements and assist technical teams (Infrastructure and Applications) in design and development tasks Require sign off of functional specifications from all cross-functional project team members Maps current "AS IS" business processes and facilitates workshops to research future "TO BE" processes Identify gaps that are required for launching products/functionality that need to be considered by development. Communicate results of his or her independent analysis effectively, both verbally and in writing to non-technical and technical clients, provide clear direction, and be able to present and reconcile different opinions without creating confrontation with a professional demeanor. Provide leadership, technical expertise and can speak on behalf of the client in project activities and problem resolution. Work with all departments within an organization to assist in the improvement of business processes and best practices. Accountable for professional working behavior to include; building and maintaining constructive working relationships, implementing proactive and concise communication, acting as a resource to colleagues, and engaging in collaborative thinking and problem solving while demonstrating Time Warner Cable core values Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining computer information systems. Thorough knowledge of processes, methods and techniques utilized to analyze and evaluate business operations. Thorough knowledge of project management and program planning. Thorough knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office suite of tools including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project. Knowledge of programming concepts and the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Preferred Qualifications:
Must be a self-starting individual with excellent problem solving, organizational and analytical skills. Strong interpersonal and client consultation skills Able to facilitate team meetings and decision-making activities; Team-building and conflict resolution skills a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal/team building skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and participate on multi-functional teams Willingness and ability to take initiative and work both independently and within a team. Ability to work at a detailed level while maintaining an overall project perspective Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and ongoing initiatives. Must be able to maintain customer and personnel information in a confidential manner. Product Development and/or Product Lifestyle Management (PLM) knowledge In depth analytical skills Strong detail orientation Superior organizational abilities.
Education and Experience:
Level 3: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
Additional Educational Information (if any): 8+ years of experience as a project manager, business analyst, change management analyst, systems analyst or closely related experience in the analysis of information technology organizations and systems.
