Senior BI Developer/Architect

Yoh has a contract-to-hire opportunity for a Senior BI Developer/Architect to join our client in Charlotte, NC.

Job Responsibilities:

- Serve as subject matter expert in data warehousing and BI solution design, development and implementation.
- Participate in all phases of SDLC: from system analysis and design thru development and test to deployment and support.
- Designs and participates in development of the conceptual, logical and physical data models, ETL and reporting infrastructure for the enterprise data warehouse and other BI environments
- Coordinate with business groups and technical teams to translate business requirements into optimal and scalable BI solutions.
- Participates in the design of standards, guidelines and best practices for business groups and technical teams.
- Analyzes and optimizes MDX and SQL queries.
- Maintains accurate and complete technical and architectural documents.
- Provides expert guidance to other team members on Business Intelligence (BI) skills and technologies.
- Participates in on-call rotation for after hours and/or weekend support.
- Validates existing data warehouse systems for data integrity, quality and accuracy and suggests improvements.
- Provides input to quality assurance, customer acceptance and regression test cycles.
- Follows company approved best practices to establish and maintain repeatable processes and procedures to manage our computing infrastructure and services efficiently and effectively

Job Qualifications:

- Minimum five to eight (5 - 8) years of full life cycle experience with data warehouse, ETL, reporting and analytics architecture.
- Minimum five (5) years of development expertise within a dynamic BI environment including OLAP and Dashboard solutions.
- Three (3+) years' experience in dimensional modelling, cube design and reporting solution and design development using Microsoft BI Tools (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS) .
- Advanced skills in MS SQL Server 2008 R2/2012, related Microsoft technologies.
- Excellent data analysis and communication skills (written and verbal) and be equally effective interacting with both business and IT professionals.
- Strong knowledge of system development methodology and disciplined approach to business analysis and quality assurance. Strong ability to analyze systems and diagram functional flows and processes.
- Proficiency with Reporting Services/MS Excel combination.
- Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner to non-technical business partners.
- Strong ability to interface with other technical teams and all levels of management.
- High personal commitment to quality, implementing best practices and providing input towards general process improvements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and flexible team environment.
- Ability to rapidly learn technical/business techniques and disciplines.
