Yoh has a direct hire, Full time opportunity for a Senior Software Developer to join our client in Charlotte, NC.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop applications in a rapid application development environment using agile/iterative software development methodologies.
- Report to the Application Development Manager.
- Assist in developing high level strategy, supervising the Charlotte branch of our client's development team, assisting with hiring out the developers and establishing architecture and coding strategies (with the aid of Enterprise Architecture).
- Responsible for the design and development of the underlying architecture for software solutions and oversees the work being done by other developers.
- Serves as an interface between the programmers and business and has supervisorial responsibilities in delegating work to ensure on time, on budget, and on scope deliveries.
- Works independently with little to no supervision.
- Display passion about iterative development and big picture thinking abilities.
- Accept the challenge of introducing Agile/Iterative development into a large enterprise currently using Waterfall development methodology.
- Strong competency in Microsoft Access, SharePoint, SQL, and Visual Studio.
- Regularly interface with senior members of BTS as well as with business customers. Be the face of our team and a champion for products and methodology.
- Ensure Requirements and Test Cases have appropriate sign offs and solutions are effective. Actively work to resolve issues users when requirements clarification is needed or to facilitate sign off on test cases.
- Translate business requirements into a solution and analyze tradeoffs between effort and return on value. Socialize these tradeoffs with the project team and stakeholders.
- Occasionally, "drop everything" and work to resolve fire drills and regulatory inquiries by doing ad-hoc queries and problem solving.
- Host or attend daily scrum meetings to resolve blocks and report progress.
Job Qualifications:
- Comfortable leading the efforts of developers who are supporting and building out solutions in MS Access 2007-2013 and SharePoint.
- Class Libraries.
- Advanced Form Controls (events, split forms).
- Making use of Access's built in features for rapid development.
- ADO.
- Advanced VB 6.0/VBA.
- Expertise in developing applications in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008-2012 usingASP.Net, C#, VB, SQL Server 2005 and beyond.
- Languages: C#.NET, VB.NET, Advanced SQL.
- Microsoft Technologies: ASP.NET 2.0/3.5/4.0, ADO.Net.
- Scripting Language: JavaScript, HTML, VBScript.
- RDBMS: SQL SERVER 2005/2008, Oracle 9i.
- Framework: .NET Framework 2.0/3.5/4.0.
- Tools: Crystal Report, Visual Studio 2010.
- Hands on experience of debugging an application using the tools provided by the Visual Studio 2008+.
- SharePoint 2010 and (Optional) Intermediate SharePoint Designer.
- Ability to quickly grasp any new technologies and concepts.
- Comfortable leading in an Agile/Iterative Environment. A strong desire to educate and promote an "iterative culture."
- Value-driven approach to software development with a keen eye for separating "must haves" and "high ROI" from "nice to haves" and "gold plating."
- Enjoy mentoring junior developers and helping tap into their potential and setting them up for success.
- Thorough understanding of the concepts of relational database design.
- Understanding of object-oriented design and analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills that both technical and non-technical end users can understand. Especially pertains to emails. Well organized and concise email communications a "must have."
- Demonstrated ability to create positive professional business relationships.
- Experience with financial services industry a plus.
