The IT Team Leader - Operations will provide critical leadership, organization structure and strategic development for GE Transportation's IT Operational needs. Responsibilities will include: Corp Liaison to business, IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Operations, Infrastructure Technology Lifecycle Management, Monitoring, Global End User experience, Data Center/Computer Room Operations, Performance & Availability and Infrastructure Optimization. Essential Responsibilities: The IT Team Leader - Operations will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.


In addition, you will:


  • Serve as owner of operations excellence for daily support activities of a group of analysts and administrators who provide a range of computer services, data center, network services, and end-user computing support
  • Be responsible for operating budgets and resource allocation and planning to ensure delivery of expected service levels
  • Plan facility organization and operations to meet the company's processing and reporting, availability and access needs, including the oversight of a physical operations center and/or a large outsourcing arrangement
  • Develop peer, cross-functional and cross-business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness
  • Be responsible for people management activities including development, performance management, salary planning, distribution of work assignments and inter/intra team issue resolution
  • Lead and direct others in programs and projects in support of the business
  • Prepare and deliver executive level presentations in support of assigned responsibilities
  • Represent IM on various Department, division and business teams and councils, ensuring IM's participation and alignment
  • Lead development and implementation of next generation processes to support long and short range IM and business initiatives
  • Represent IM to various outside agencies, eg State Department, Universities, foreign governments and vendors Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the technical field Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.   • Six Sigma Black Belt certification (GE Employees only)
  • ITIL Foundations certified, PMI certified experience, and knowledge of GE's management process (GE Emloyees only)
  • Strong understanding of the GE financial processes, and demonstrated capability to manage complex budgets
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Executive level presentation skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen, analytical, and teamwork skills
