Description:

CACI is seeking to fill an open .NET Developer/Computer Programmer position for the Technical Solutions Team providing support for our client, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in Cincinnati, Ohio within the Division of Compensation Analysis and Support (DCAS). NIOSH established DCAS to assist with implementing a program created by the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000 (EEOICPA or The Act) which provides compensation and medical benefits for nuclear weapons workers who may have developed certain work-related illnesses. The Technical Solutions Team is responsible for designing, coding, testing, documenting, and implementing software programs and applications in support of DCAS and its mission.

Major Responsibilities:
Develop and support application systems in accordance with established standards and processes
Database design and development
Integrate new functionality into existing applications
Optimize and modularize complex code for reuse and efficiency
Gather and implement system requirements/objectives from end users
Modifies existing programs as required
Verifies accuracy and completeness of programs by preparing sample test data, conducting program tests, analysing results, and debugging program errors
Confers with stakeholders and peers to clarify program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, and requirements for internal checks and controls
Assists users having problems with use of system software
Attend regular team meetings and report status of development efforts and issues

Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 2-4 years of experience in a software development environment
Experience developing Windows and web-based .NET solutions
Understanding of web application development principles
Strong experience with ASP.NET
Strong experience with VB.NET
Understanding of relational database concepts and data-driven systems
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to take direction and follow instructions
Strong desire to learn and advance software development skills
Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are required
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
