Job Description: Director, Software Development & Support
CGI Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of CGI, and a leader in providing clinical auditing and recovery services to commercial and public healthcare insurance payers throughout the US, has an opening in Cleveland, OH for a Director, Software Development & Support. This role will oversee multiple teams involved in software development and support initiatives within the Healthcare Compliance Program Accordingly, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
- Manage delivery of multiple ongoing support, enhancement and new development projects
- Effectively work with multiple stakeholders including clients and direct operations groups as well
as program and project managers
- Facilitate resolution for escalated issues and engage necessary technical resources
- Monitor SLA activity of CGI's delivery teams and implement corrective measures, when required
- Actively facilitate IT staff meetings as well as participate in Operational and Management meetings
- Manage issues, risks and prioritizations
- Apply CGI quality methodologies across client engagements and identify necessary enhancements
- Motivate managers through performance coaching, career planning and educational objectives
- Retain top quartile(s) staff
- Prepare executive reports and present to Senior Management
- Implement new and improve current IT processes and workflows
- Provide delivery oversight and motivational leadership for teams of more than 20 members,
including remote staff
- Ensure products/services meet or exceed established internal/external Quality Standards at all
times
To be considered for this challenging role, applicants must have a majority of the following skills/qualifications/abilities:
- Minimum 15 years of direct management experience and prefer at least 5 years of leadership experience in IT
application development and support
- History of successful execution and delivery of application development projects
- Ability to focus on both development activities as well client needs
- Strong diplomatic, collaborative, writing and verbal skills
- Operations experience with demonstrated abilities leading application development and support
teams
- Experience delivering Service Level Agreements in complex IT environments and understanding
contractual obligations, risks and impacts
- Experience in remote stakeholder and delivery management
- Experience in delivery through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle and support
- Demonstrated financial management abilities for multi-million dollar projects
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project
- Knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio
- Possess exceptional decision-making abilities
- Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively at all levels of organization
- Skill in creating synergy within teams to attain objectives
- Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Health InformationManagement
or elated field
- Ability to travel occasionaly
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, highly fluid environment
