Job Description:
The T1 Company Corporate office currently seeks a Sr. Network Engineer for our IT Network Operations Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary:
The T1 Company's network is nationwide and consists of privately owned leased lines, metro Ethernet, dark fiber, site-to-site VPNs, and two highly redundant data centers. Technologies include: Cisco Routers Switches and firewalls.
The Senior Network Engineer shares responsibility for the 24 x 7 operation and support of IT network infrastructures. Responsibility includes installation of network services, tier-3 technical support, incident response, problem management, project participation, and mentoring of less experienced team members.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in networking and network security including VoIP, VPN's, enterprise routing, L3-7 switching, and Cisco IOS.
- Expert level of familiarity in implementing and troubleshooting both MPLS and VRF.
- Professional understanding of other carrier connectivity (DS3, T1 etc.) as well as real world implementation and troubleshooting experience.
- Expert understanding of BGP and OSPF, as well as real world implementation and troubleshooting experience.
- Expert understanding of QoS as well as real world implementation and troubleshooting experience.
- Very strong focus on the customer's needs and a willingness to accommodate them.
