We are currently seeking a HTML/JavaScript Software Engineer to participate development of Pearson's mobile platform.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain HTML5 and JavaScript applications, libraries and frameworks using sound software engineering principles.
- Develop and maintain automated build, deployment and test scripts for HTML/JavaScript code using.
- Develop new code using Test Driven Development and Acceptance Test Driven Development practices.
- Ensure all code developed meets Pearson code and quality
- Estimate development efforts and enter estimates into Agile project tracking tool.
- Provide daily updates to your Agile engineering team members and update project tracking tools daily.
- Utilize Agile Development methodologies on all projects, including participation in release planning, iteration planning, iteration and release retrospectives and demos.
- Design and develop prototype products as needed.
- Troubleshoot and Remedy programming bugs and errors as documented and prioritized.
- Deliver products that meet business goals and financial objectives.
- Work in team environment and actively collaborate with local and remote teams.
- Evaluate new technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities into the platform.

Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of experience developing HTML and JavaScript applications (mobile experience preferred)
- Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and current JS frameworks (jQuery, AngularJS, etc)
- Experience with JavaScript build and minification systems (Closure)
- Experience with responsive design concepts, techniques and technologies
- Experience with Agile development methodologies including SCRUM
- Experience serving in a team lead role (for senior positions)
- Strong collaboration and professional communication skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a Full time basis
- Bachelor's degree in technical field such as Computer Science or Engineering (or 5+ years of equivalent programming experience)
Pluses:
- Experience with native or hybrid mobile application development
- Experience developing JavaScript libraries and frameworks
