Job Description We are seeking a Sr. Virtual Infrastructure Administrator with extensive experience working in a complex computing environment to join our cloud operations team. You will work as part of a team that provides operational support for systems, services, and requirements in cloud infrastructure environments. The virtual infrastructure administrator is also responsible for communicating to management the operational status of the environments including performance, capacity, availability, failure rates, and other performance metrics. A thorough understanding of software management stacks for distributed environments is a must, and specific experience with VMware enterprise products is required. To be successful, you will need a strong technical orientation; be a creative problem solver; be motivated to advance in the field; and work well in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:
- Perform performance analysis, proactive troubleshooting, continual improvement and capacity planning of production, virtualized environments
- Deploy and maintain a production cloud environments that requires 24/7 accessibility
- Provide feedback and recommendations for design and implementation of solutions
- Participate in programs to deploy pre-GA products/codes in production and provide direct feedback to product improvement
- Review entire environment and execute initiatives to reduce failures, defects and improving overall performance
- Work with experienced systems administrators on maintenance of environment
- Perform tasks that are often unstructured and address issues that are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches
- Provide instructions and guidance on best practices to junior members of the team
- Hands on implementation, maintaining, and troubleshooting of complex virtualized environments
- Provide innovative suggestions for complex implementation solutions
- Document concise pre-deployment and post-deployment plans and review with team for all configuration changes
- Stay abreast of current technologies and make recommendations based on knowledge and research

Basic Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; including documentation
- Ability to handle multiple complex tasks, with tight deadlines concurrently
- Demonstrate ability to perform well in a dynamic environment, with on-time delivery
- Demonstrate ability to use problem solving techniques such as root cause analysis to resolve issues
- Demonstrate ability to write and present effective materials, including presentations, status reporting, technical diagrams and flowcharts
- Ability to follow and adhere to policies, procedures and standards relating to network and systems management
- Ability to collaborate with a team working across multiple locations
- Capable of preparing detailed build/test plans to implement new technologies/configurations
- Apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation
- Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions
- Ability to work a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule

Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ year of experience supporting production systems
- 5+ years hands on experience with VMware vSphere v4.x/v5.x
- 2+ years of experience with Linux operating systems
- Experience with software management stacks for distributed environments
- Experience with central authentication (LDAP/AD) and security
- Knowledge of data storage protocols including CIFS, FC, FCoE, iSCSI, and NFS
- Knowledge of iptables, tcpdump/wireshark,etc.
- Experience with Scripting or automation languages (bash/perl/python/powercli)
- Knowledge of Red Hat, Centos, Ubuntu, and Windows operating systems
- Knowledge of revision control software
- Knowledge of DNS, LDAP, NFS, SMTP, Linux Account Management a plus
- Working experience with VMware ESX, Virtual Center, vCloud Director
- Working experience with configuration management software such as VMware Configuration Manager
- Working experience with monitoring and analytics software such as VMware vCenter Operations Manager or VMware vFabric Hyperic
- Working experience with automation frameworks such as VMware vCenter Orchestrator

Education:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in computer science or engineering
