Job Description: Production Support Analyst
CGI is seeking a Production Support Analyst with 3-5+ years of relevant experience to join our project team that is currently providing ongoing application development and maintenance for a large financial institution in Columbia, SC.
As a Production Support Analyst, you will be responsible for providing support to applications in production, for noting interruptions or bugs in operation by performing problem solving exercises to determine the problem and to ensure the continued use of the application. In addition, you will be developing data extractions or reports from requests or requirements stated by clients, and for investigating data related issues.
Ongoing tasks will include:
- Tracking and appropriately escalating production issues & report periodically to the group charged with monitoring uptime and efficiency of production application.
- Analyzing production issues to determine root cause and provides fix recommendations to the development team.
- Supporting tasks to include alert monitoring for periodic jobs, opening trouble tickets, general escalation, client coordination, and vendor interactions.
- Planning and testing of application, configuration and database changes, and installation of upgrades and patches and update production support documentation.
- Writing DDL, DML scripts per business process need
- Monitoring Level 2 issues/tickets opened internally and by customers for application issues.
- Scheduling and monitoring nightly jobs.
- Carrying a pager on a rotation basis for support during non-business hours.
Required
Skills:
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills and capable of breaking down complex situations to discover and resolve root causes, for both technical and process related issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with an ability to interface and discuss issues directly with users.
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience supporting all phases of the SDLC.
- Prior experience supporting applications in a J2EE, UNIX environment.
- Experience with Autosys job management for scheduling, monitoring, and reporting, and in a PL/SQL environment with Oracle.
- Knowledge of UNIX Shell and Korn Scripting for automation of tasks, SQL and Remedy
- A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent years of relevant professional experience) including 3-5+ years' experience performing an IT production support role. At CGI, we're a team of builders.
