Description
Summary
Analyzes business and/or technical requirements to formulate a testing plan according to TM-M. Produces test plans and scripts necessary to satisfy business and/or technical requirements. Performs risk assessment of test designs and scenarios to mitigate risk while still meeting required timelines. Coordinates with technical and business resources to identify and correct system defects that are detected during the testing activity. Performs test analyses and issues resolutions of business and project requirements.
Responsibilities
With direction, conducts on-line, batch and data verification testing from test scripts in assigned functional area(s). Performs test analysis on simple to moderate project requirements and reports issues as appropriate. With direction, creates test designs (on-line, batch and data verification testing) according to project requirements. Begins to understand the principles of automation tools and how these tools can improve testing proficiency and accuracy. Develops a general knowledge of the role of testing as it impacts the Total System in delivering a high quality software product. Demonstrates a general understanding of the different types of testing techniques available in the industry (ie positive, negative, regression). Navigates between computer applications on the Mainframe (ie TSO, FileAid) and PC software (ie Excel, Access). Validates test conditions and review data values utilizing multiple environments. May perform test plan reviews.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
Four year college degree and no related experience or 2 or more years specialized training or professional experience is required. Appropriate TSYS experience is preferred.
