Senior Network Engineer

Senior Network Engineer provides mentoring and support to Level 1 and Level 2 Engineers. This position performs high level design and implementation activities. Based on education and experience, they are able to perform resolution of more advanced client service issues, service requests and project based work within a client's voice and data network environment. They ensure client issues are resolved in a timely and successful manner. Expected travel will vary based on client requirements.
The responsibilities of this position will grow over time to include the following:
-Bring added value to the company by developing and nurturing new business relationships. Produce and deliver executive level presentations that promote Company's services.
-Define, plan, and organize projects to meet customer deadlines and requirements. Directs staff as required to meet customer expectations.
-Provide mentorship to all staff.
Responsibilities:
-Provides advanced client support and project work.
-Mentors and reviews Level 1 and Level 2 Engineers work to ensure client satisfaction.
-Responsible for providing design, implementation, and support for network and associated systems. This includes, but is not limited to, Cisco Routers and Switches, Cisco ASAs and VPN Concentrators, Multivendor Firewalls and Content Inspection Systems, Cisco Communication Manager, Cisco Unity, and specialized carrier services.
-Performs technical planning and implementation of complex and high risk projects or maintenance work.
-Defines, plans, and organizes projects to meet customer deadlines and requirements.
-Creates, defines and propagates standards and procedures which improve the consistency and supportability of project and support services provided by Company. Regularly solicits feedback from engineers in the field to ensure continual improvement of documented standards and procedures.
-Interacts with vendors and third parties to evaluate product and service offerings.
-Provides third-level escalation support including after-hours support as needed.
-Regularly solicits feedback from client to ensure all needs are being addressed.
-Accepts high profile issues escalated by Level 1 or Level 2 staff and drives issues to resolution to the satisfaction of the client.
-Ability to identify when issues need to be escalated to management or senior engineers.
-Ability to communicate effectively with business users and management in both verbal and written form.
Qualifications:
-Cisco CCNP-Voice Certification.
-Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent with experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
-5-7 years of experience with Cisco infrastructure, including design, implementation, and troubleshooting in a mid to large sized environment.
-5-7 years of experience in telecommunications, PRI, IP, and voice network.
-Strong communication skills and technical writing.
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Understanding of project planning and processes.
-Ability to gather and interpret information, derive client requirements, and map those requirements to available system features and solutions.
-Network design experience utilizing the Cisco product portfolio.
-Cisco Router/Switch/IOS/ASA/Firewall Expertise.
-Cisco Unified Communications Design/Build/Implementation Experience.
-Cisco IPCC Express and Enterprise Design/Build Experience.
-Strong documentation skills utilizing Visio, Excel and Word applications.
-Ability to maintain all of these skills under pressure and while multitasking.
-Extremely high work ethic and reliability.
-Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
-Ability to mentor and provide direction to Level 1 and Level 2 staff.
-Keen attention to detail.
-Willingness to work outside of normal business hours.
-Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting experience.
-Willingness to learn new software, hardware, and technologies. Ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
-Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.

-Willingness to travel as dictated by client requirements.

-Must be able to interface with client management and personnel.
-Ability to effectively document processes.

-Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Visio and Project.
