Job Summary:

3M Grouper Applications Team in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Software Automation Engineer that is a highly motivated self starter to join our team. As a Software Automation Engineer your primary responsibilities will include design, programming and certification of software changes and infrastructure tools to support the development of the products produced. Additional responsibilities include building automated solutions to transform and streamline manual processes. Working in an Agile environment, you will also be responsible for supporting team goals for each sprint by pitching in to help others with their tasks with a focus on QA tasks in support of automation goals.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
- Participate in design sessions and influence designs to minimize maintenance and testing time
- Participate in planning to identify approach to testing
- Lead design/development/maintenance of appropriate automated solutions and develop test cases and test data to certify that the specifications are satisfied
- Maintain automation infrastructure in support of automated build creation and validation
- Support the identification, design and development of new automation to increase quality and team efficiencies
- Participate in retrospective reviews to identify process improvement ideas and implement
- Participate in and/or lead client product/feature demonstrations
- Identify risks, risk management in support of release goals
- Address/resolve issues identified by clients
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited university
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Microsoft operating systems, development environments and tools

Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field
- 1 year Healthcare experience supporting health care applications or claim processing software
- Experience in Java programming
- Understanding of medical grouping, editing and coding within the Healthcare industry
- Experience with one of more of the following operating systems: UNIX, AIX, Solaris, Web OS
- Previous experience with code management processes and tools
- 1 year experience working on an Agile team
- Experience working with virtual teams
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to take individual initiative and responsibility for assignments
- Keen negotiation skills
