Job Description: Public Sector ERP Project Manager
CGI's highly successful Public Sector ERP Solutions group (CGI Advantage) is seeking an experienced Senior Implementation Project Manager (traveling role).
The hired candidate will reporting to the VP of ERP Delivery and will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects throughout all phases.
Responsibilities include:
- Develops and maintains the shared Project Task Plan and tracks actual hours to projected task hours
- Develops and maintains the Project Dependency Chart
- Provides biweekly status to client Project Manager and CGI Management
- Coordinates and schedules activities of Project Team members
- Maintains a Project Issues Log, gains consensus on issue assignment and resolution with the client Project Manager, and highlights any unresolved issues during project meetings and in status reports
- Maintains the Risks Log, gains consensus on priority and mitigation strategy with the client Project Manager, and highlights high priority risks during project meetings and in status reports
- Delivers projects on time and within budget
- Collaboratively defines and enforces project scope according to Contract terms
- Collaboratively provides project financial management, including invoice review/approval, submission of forecast, and monthly financial reporting
- Creates project change order requests per client needs
- Negotiating and initiating projects, including development of budgets, resource plans and statements of work
- Lead projects with full accountability for contract management, project financials, client relationships, and service delivery quality
- Build and maintain relationships with senior executives within our client organizations
- Report on delivery status to executive bodies within the client organization and within CGI
- Manage and mentor project managers and other senior delivery consultants
- Identify and develop new business opportunities
- Contribute to CGI project management practices and mentor more junior project managers
Required Level of Education:
- PMP Certified
- Relevant Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must Have - Technical
Skills:
- 6-8 years of experience as a Project Manager with progressively complex projects
- Must have a background in software application development, integration and infrastructure projects
- Must have proven experience in initiating new projects and controlling projects (scope, risk and issue management, status reporting at all levels, planning, estimating, resourcing, scheduling)
- Must have experience with MS Project. Must have strong understanding and with quality methodologies
