ABOUT THE PROJECT

GTN Technical Staffing is currently seeking an SAP BASIS Admin for a top Fortune 500 company located in Dallas, TX.  The SAP BASIS Administrator role is a full time position to strategically design and implement Business Requirements across a platform of SAP and non-SAP systems.  The SAP BASIS Administrator will be responsible for operations, architecture, and performance of the SAP systems in the landscape.  The candidate will serve as the primary contact within the organization for the BASIS area.  The SAP BASIS Administrator will define and enforce standards and best practices related to BASIS Administration and will work closely with the development and project teams.

• Participate in On-Calls to Ensure 24/7 Operations of Critical Systems
• Promote Application/Systems Code within SAP Landscape
• Adhere to Regulatory/Compliance Requirements (Segregation of Duties, etc.)
• Provide/Create Recommendations for Process Improvements
• Handle SAP BASIS Administration – SAP Software Installations/Upgrades/Applying Support Packages/Installations of Ad-On Software Components/SAP Profile Parameter Changes/Workload Analysis/System Error Analysis/Establishing Standard BASIS Background Jobs/System Health Checks/Systems Health Monitoring, etc.
• Create Documentation/Instruct Operations Staff Regarding the SAP Environment – Management/Operation Procedures, etc.
• Automate Administrative/Operational Functions for Day-to-Day Systems Support Activities
• Perform Capacity Planning Across the SAP Landscapes – Sizing/Scaling of the Systems.
• Function as POC – Point-of-Contact for SAP BASIS Production-Related Issues
• Ensure Proper Configuration/Security on all Server Environments
• Conduct On-Going Monitoring to Ensure Stability/Optimal Performance on all Servers
• Inform/Update/Communicate with Management on any Outstanding Productions Issues
• Use CCMS/Solution Manager to Identify/Understand Recurring Incidents Impacting User Population/Identify Root Causes/Resolve Issues/Implement Corrective Actions
• Experience using Wily Introscope/Collections of J2EE Metrics from the Systems
• Review Systems Logs to Identify Signs of Potential Problems/Issues
• Provide Technical Mentoring/Support for SAP Implementation to the Project/Sub-Teams
• Thorough Knowledge of SAP Technical Infrastructure/Maintain Multi-Landscape Environments through Client Copies/System Refreshes (ABAP/Java)/Transport Management with CTS+
• Researches/Champions BASIS Solutions for Functionality in Areas of Performance Monitoring/Tuning/Systems Configurations/Design/Implementation, etc.
• Evaluate Software/Systems Releases to Determine Compatibility
• Proactively Monitor Environment Performance Metrics
• Document Systems Infrastructure/Maintain an Accurate Hardware/Software Inventory
• Work Professionally/Effectively with Developers/End-Users to Resolve Business Critical Problems within a High-Stress Environment
