Major Fortune 500 client is seeking a Technical Sr. Storage/Windows Architect to manage the outsourcers, architect over storage and windows. Must have EMC Storage Arrays, VMAX, Clariion, CX480s. Must have hands on experience with Windows AD, Vmware ESX 4.0.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement server environments to support the development of business systems that will meet or exceed availability requirements
• Participate in formalizing an overall infrastructure architecture and standards that are documented and shared across the IT organization
• Ensure delivery of services from hosting provider is in alignment with business requirements
• Analyze storage utilization and develop a strategy to maximize the investment, reporting and capacity planning
• Maintain disaster recovery plans, regular review to ensure D/R strategy aligns with business requirements.  Oversight of D/R validation on a regular basis.
• Actively participate in technology projects providing design guidance for infrastructure requirements
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and publishing of all corporate-level information system standards, procedures, and guidelines
• Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend, and plan implementation of new or improved technology software or devices
• Maintain technical reference library: develop technical information materials and workshops on these new areas for IT as appropriate
• Develop strategic plans and identify key success factors, set priorities and allocate the resources to achieve operating company and corporate goals
• Compare costs, recommend/select specific products, and negotiate lease or purchase agreements as necessary
• Design and implement a vmware environment that follows best practices and is optimized for our environment

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Technical proficiency in server and storage hardware and software: ability to consult with other IT groups on system designs and support as a recognized technical expert
• Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
• Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust
• Confidence and leadership qualities for IT project teams in a cross-functional environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills: ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport and persuades others
• Solid project management skills, especially in a cross-functional environment
• Strong team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills: ability to effectively interface with a wide variety of people
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline/or equivalent experience
• Experience with managing a server and storage environment, familiarity with MS operating system
• Competency in strategic thinking with strong abilities in relationship management
• Successfully developed and implemented new technology
• Demonstrated competency in project management in a cross-functional environment
• Demonstrated competency in developing effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
• Must be proficient in architecting and providing level 3 support for the following technologies; Vmware, Microsoft (Active Directory, Exchange, Windows) and EMC Storage & Backup
