Job Description: Entry Level Java Developer
The Entry Level Java Developer is responsible for performing analysis, modification, documentation and support of daily operations for the CGI proprietary system and other applications. They will work closely with business unit members to understand business requirements and ensure that application systems properly function to meet business needs, delivering value across the organization. The position will consult with end users to identify current operation procedures, clarify program objectives, evaluate business requirements and implement innovative solutions in a fast paced team-oriented environment. This position includes designing, coding, modifying, testing, debugging, documenting, installing, and deploying application systems.
Responsibilities Include:
- Troubleshoot and resolve applications issues.
- Run concurrent programs/reports for business users.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Identify permanent fixes to recurring problems of level 1 and level 2 support calls.
- Support, identify and define reports, with both users and developers.
- Utilizes, escalates and assigns tasks to other members in the department, as required or needed.
- Supports end users to include troubleshooting locally and over the phone.
- Contributes to the documentation and coordination of desktop installation and problem resolution procedures using both manual and help desk software based systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
- Logs and tracks calls using problem management database, and maintains history records and related problem documentation.
- Ability to communicate any problems or issues, facilitate and track through an escalation process; work with peers to assist with resolutions.

Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree: Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Computer Systems
- 0 to 3 Years Programming Experience in Java, JSP, Javascript, Weblogic and XML
- 0 to 2 Years of Full SDLC Business Analysis Experience or Strong Analytical Aptitude
