Responsibilities
General Summary:
The role of the Lead Specialist IT Asset Management is to oversee the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related assets within the organization. Develop, and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout the assets lifecycles. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software and/or hardware licenses to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. Provide leadership in supplier relationship, cost of goods and pricing. Manage and participate in IT life-cycle procurement, deployment, management of assets (monitor, audit, validate, tracking), expense and use reporting, disposal) management of software and hardware assets. Assist with monitoring and managing the IT Budget, including Cost Center and Project Budgets.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor, control and regularly audit the software/hardware licenses. Ensure that HAP is continually in compliance with software licensing agreements. Make certain that hardware maintenance licenses are accurate and appropriate. Manage and monitor all IT assets, both hardware and software, with periodic inventories and audits, for tracking and evaluation purposes.
- Maintain hardware, software and service contracts as appropriate. Review agreements with HAP for goods and services related to Information System assets and services for the area of responsibility, ensuring that HAP receives all benefits and terms to which it is entitled. Also, monitor and verify that HAP does not violate licensing and/or usage rules specified by vendors.
- Negotiate cost-effective changes (hardware and software), based on a present and future needs analysis. Negotiate service-level agreements, and assign compliance levels
- Maintain a relationship with legal counsel.
- Adhere to budget standards and collaborate with IT Management to develop and achieve the annual 113640 Administrative budget for ongoing ITAM support and renewal fees. Report budget variances, track all IT expenditures.
- Adhere to budget standards and collaborate with IT Management to manage, monitor and report on all Cost Center budgets and Project Budgets.
- Maintain the Configuration Management Database and work with IT Teams to implement quality improvements to ITAM automated processes.
- Be responsible for total customer satisfaction with services performed by managing and ensuring the successful execution of all processes and procedures. Collaborate with other IT support groups and customers to resolve complex business problems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business/accounting, computer science, or related discipline
- Related and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of academic requirements. Related experience is defined as six (6) years' IT experience with emphasis on budget/procurement
Experience Required:
- Five (5) years' experience in a combination of budget/financial, procurement, asset management, and software licensing management in an IT department.
- Strong knowledge of or experience working with budget and procurement with business functions to be able to successfully interface with the customer base
Preferred:
- Demonstrated expertise in sustaining high customer satisfaction with IT support functions preferred
- Previous leadership experience
Certifications/Licensures:
- Professional certification(s) (PCSLM, SAM/HAM, CSAM, etc.) preferred; must be willing to obtain any required training or certifications
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of employees and management
- Demonstrated team building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to interact effectively with personnel at all levels of the corporation.
