.NET Development Manager/Hands-on/120-140K

Growing, niche-company has an immediate need for a Development Manager on a direct hire basis. In this role, you will manage a team of four developers and be charged with hands-on oversight of the development team, working closely with the QA Manager, and interacting with the Product Manager on day to day Agile practices. This is a critical role for the company. This is a new role created to manage the development of a brand new product: a game changer for the company.

This is a hands-on role. You will be expected to stay in the code and develop around 50% of the time for starters. Over time, the company has capital already budgeted to hire 4 more developers over the next year, resulting in your individual coding responsibilities to decrease to about 20%. This is a huge initiative for the company, and they are very excited to have it underway!

General Responsibilities:

• Lead development team while establishing development standards and Agile software development practices
• Contribute to development, review, and maintenance of product requirements documents, technical design documents and functional specifications
• Architect and design solutions using a cutting-edge technology stack.
• Assist with establishing quality methodologies, metrics, and standards to improve productivity

Requirements:

• 8+ years C# ASP.Net Development - MVC preferred but not required.
• 3+ years as a dev manager or team lead.
• Experienced with Javascript (they are Javascript heavy).
• Preference for either of the two - either strong Mobile Development experience (Phonegap used) or .NET MVC. Must have one of the two.
• Experience designing APIs.
• Deploying solutions to the cloud (they use Amazon Web Services)
• Technologies used include HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, MVC, C#, WCF, NHibernate and SQL
• Agile software development
• Open to coding as an individual but also managing the team, working hand in hand in some cases with QA and the Product Manager.
• Proven leadership skills
• Bachelor's Degree; excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment
