PRIMARY OBJECTIVESThis position will be accountable for ensuring end to end service performance and the cost to deliver the service meets or exceeds established objectives. The manager in this position will accomplish these objectives by controlling service risk through championing and promoting improvements in the areas of people, process and technology and promoting and managing the service through effective relationship building with stakeholders. This position will be responsible for working closely with the DBMW Infrastructure Owner and DBMW leadership to translate the DBMW vision into an executable strategy. Additionally, the manager will provide high quality communication for senior management during and after service issues. This role also ensures all service governance activities are carried out in accordance with Technical Policy and Standards.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY Leadership and Communication (40%)
- Accountable for improving end to end service by driving existing initiatives like Lifecycle Management and Chargeback.
- Accountable for defining and working with DBMW leaders to implement new strategic plans based on DBMW vision.
- Responsible for prioritizing strategic initiatives in conjunction with infrastructure owner.
- Ensure consistency in implementation of standard operating model across all teams.
- Lead setting of service management strategy to maintain and improve risk posture.
- Ensure maintenance contracts, schedules and activity are appropriate to manage risks.
- Represent the infrastructure at Major Incident (ICC & EMC) meetings.
- Represent the infrastructure at Global Service Forum meetings.
- Defines and sponsors Service Improvement Programmes (SIPs) when required.
Process and Technology (30%)
- Report on service level performance on a regular basis.
- Contribute to and tracks agreed service metrics for the infrastructure.
- Manage and own the Service Availability Risk Register (SARR)
- Drive change and incident management objectives across all teams
Strategy (30%)
- Develop strategies for
- Identifying high cost/low value areas within the service
- Maximizing value provided and minimizing the cost to provide the service
- Clearly articulated service offering
- Competitive analysis of service offering
- Collaborate with other Thomson Reuters companies on processes, best practices, and technology solutions

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- B.S./B.A. Computer Science or related field; or equivalent level of experience
- 8-10+ years progressive technology experience including at least 3 years experience leading teams
- Experience in database technologies preferred
Knowledge and Skills
- Proven skills in leading high performing teams that demonstrates excellence in a dynamic fast-paced environment with a high degree of flexibility and accountability
- An understanding of ITIL and operational support strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills supported by expressive oral and written communication styles
- Proven project management skills with a special focus on organization
- Strong technical aptitude - database platforms, operating systems, network, etc.
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
