Thomson Reuters is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Physical Implementation team. This individual will be a part of a fast paced, highly dynamic organization responsible for supporting over 15,000 Servers and related peripheral equipment. Specifically, we are looking for an individual with a wide range of knowledge and skills from asset management to data center equipment installation that can make an impact on our internal processes. This individual will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of customer and technical groups and will be an integral part of this organizations success.

This role requires individuals to work each shift for a 4 month period before they are assigned to a permanent shift (one year rotating).

1st shift, Tuesday-Saturday
2nd shift, Saturday-Wednesday
3rd shift, Tuesday-Saturday

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
Responsible for installation and support of a variety of distributed systems equipment, including configuration, asset, change and problem management processes.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Coordinate and perform installation, coordinate and perform changes of distributed systems (Intel, RISC) within the Data Center (25%)
- Install, move, perform scheduled changes, and troubleshoot Servers and server related equipment (ie Servers, Switches, Routers, and misc. technology equipment) to ensure systems and application have network connectivity to support business requirements (25%)
- Provide problem management services by utilizing diagnostic tools to aid in troubleshooting efforts including 24x7 rotating pager support (25%)
- Establish and maintain configuration documentation and assist with general asset and inventory management processes (15%)
- Perform equipment and system testing (10%)

RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS
- Participate on project initiatives as requested
- Facilitate and coordinate improvements to group processes and technology solutions, ie build processes, change/problem management, inventory/delivery process

Qualifications
Education
- 2 year technical degree or 2+ years of network/server/Data Center work experience.
- 1 - 4 years work experience in the Data Center industry is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills
- Work independently and with others on tasks with some technical and management guidance
- Thorough understanding of cabling best practices (EIA/TIA Standards).
- General understanding of LAN/WAN/Telephony concepts
- Effective written and verbal communications
- Ability to learn new technologies with an interest in expanding and applying this knowledge as new ones emerge
- Working knowledge of PCs and one or more operating systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging team environment
- Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities
- Ability and willingness to support equipment crossing multiple platforms, including providing 24x7 pager coverage on a rotating basis
- General knowledge of Thomson Legal & Regulatory products is preferred
