As a Senior Network Engineer on the datacenter Local Area Network team you will have the opportunity to support the latest in network technologies within world class datacenters. This position will be on the Americas, Corporate and Internal Systems (CIS) network support team. The Americas region is part of a global level 2 network support organization the provides follow-the-Sun support within the Thomson Reuters Data Center Organization. This position requires extensive experience and familiarity with routing/switching, Firewall, and load balancing technologies in addition to demonstrating a firm understanding of general TCP/IP principles. A successful candidate must possess the organizational skills to excel on multiple projects with competing priorities.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Support and implement solutions that meet the business needs
- Support new technologies and operationalize for production use
- Support of the following Technologies
- Cisco Nexus 2000, 5000 and 7000
- Cisco Nexus technologies of VPC and FabricPath
- Cisco 4500, 4900 and 6500 Switches
- HP Flex 10/Flex Fabric
- Access-list management
- Checkpoint Firewall
- Palo Alto Firewall
- F5 Load Balancing
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 network switching/routing
- First Hop Routing Protocols such as HSRP, VRRP and GLBP
- Configure and troubleshoot issues within production networks running dynamic routing protocols.
- Packet Capture and analysis
- Support rotating oncall responsibilities

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical degree
Required Skills:
- 4+ years experience as a Network Engineer in a large diverse environment
- Working knowledge of multi-area OSPF environments and BGP
- Experience supporting high performance networks using Cisco hardware
- Knowledge and experience with TCP/IP, Layer 2 and 3 switching, Cisco IOS and NX-OS.
- Proven effective communications and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:
- Scripting experience
- Experience with ITIL (Change, Incident and Problem Management) Processes
- Knowledge of operating systems such as Unix and Linux
- Knowledge of server virtualization technologies such as VMware as it relates to network connectivity
- Experience with network management and automation tools such as HP Network Automation
Any Certifications Required:
- CCNP or CCIE routing and switching certifications are desired
