Job Description: Release Manager

The Healthcare and Compliance group at CGI Federal is looking for a Release Manager to be part of a large team in a dynamic and changing environment. Projects include delivering technology and application management services for mission critical applications and infrastructure in the federal healthcare space.

Federal healthcare is moving to a more cost-effective shared services model to remove silos and to leverage applications and platforms across multiple organizations. CGI provides healthcare departments and agencies with in-depth functional and technical expertise to adopt these strategies and to offer clients a focused set of solutions that help federal health organizations become more productive, cost-effective, secure and service-oriented.

The Release Manager will be responsible for providing professional and effective technical consulting services to client organizations while performing the functions for HIM applications. The Release Manager will perform and support all release and/or software deploy activities related to installing, administering, maintaining, and supporting web-based applications and middleware.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Organize and coordinate complex releases that comprise of cross-functional teams and a multitude of interrelated and independent application and/or infrastructure changes
-Provide input to defining and establishing enterprise release processes and schedules
-Responsible for managing deployment of releases in coordination with the QA Manager, Configuration Manager, and Application Manager.
-Utilize release and deployment procedures implemented by the Configuration Manager. Ensure existing change management process requirements are met
-Provide on-going written and verbal release status updates to various levels of the organization
-Serve as an escalation point for all issues and questions associated with a specific release
-Ability to be flexible and use subject matter experts, circumstantial evidence and sound judgment to mitigate risks by adjusting releases and/or release management process requirements
-Create comprehensive documentation on the release process, roles and responsibilities, policies and procedures
-Uses post release reviews to improve and provide input into adjusting the release management process
-Performs administration tasks in support of the HIM application environments.
-Understand work plan activities, and provide accurate status on work completion. Estimate task time requirements and plan accordingly. REQUIREMENTS:

-Must have a Bachelor's degree.
-5+ years technical experience information technology from any of the following disciplines (release management, development, systems administration, systems engineering, quality assurance)
-5+ years experience leading teams across multiple locations and demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross functional teams
-Proven track record of work stream management; eg writing, managing and tracking against a plan
-Experience in supporting the implementation of ITIL-based service delivery processes, such as release management, in medium to large environment a strong plus
-Must have 3-5 years of experience installing and configuring web based applications utilizing LAMP stack technology.
-Excellent customer service attitude, communication, and interpersonal skills
-Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills using various mediums with broad Client audiences
-Strong knowledge of testing and defect tracking tools
-Strong interpersonal skills and effective team player.
-Good verbal/written communication skills.
-Must be able to successfully pass/complete a CGI background check to start employment.
-Must be able to work in the US for an indefinite period of time.
