Job Description: Technical Architect
CGI Federal is searching for a Technical Architect to support one of our Health IT projects within our Health and Compliance Business Unit. This position is based at our Fairfax, VA office but some local travel in the DC metro area is required. The right candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Providing technical guidance and direction in developing the technical architecture for an open source transport platform product.
- Provide technical oversight to the agile development of the project.
- Work closely with the product team, program management office, and funding federal partners to translate evolving interoperability requirements into a road map and technical requirements for the product. These technical requirements will need definition for supporting technical stack as well as technical design of feature functionality.
- Will work closely with all the development team members on delivery and task organization.
- Provide help in developing basis of cost estimates from the design, development and technical effort perspective to provide solutions.
- Educate and provide technical advice to management, key stakeholders and community.
- Converting requirements to a technical solution/architecture
- Research on technologies and approaches that are critical to the product
- Work closely with the product team to interpret the evolving health IT landscape into technical requirements
- Review and assess existing and emerging technologies/standards and recommend enhancements
- Work closely with management, key stakeholders, and open source community
Requirements:
- Experienced in developing Health related system solutions
- Experienced in designing and developing small to large scale complex systems
- Experienced in WebSphere, WebLogic, J2EE, web services, Java, SOA, and other leading technologies
- Knowledge of healthcare and web based specifications HL7, IHE, OASIS
- Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
