Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company is currently recruiting for an IT Manager, Global Regulatory/Medical Affairs/Clinical/Surveillance Systems. This position can be located in Morris Plains or Skillman, NJ or Fort Washington, PA and may approximately 25% regional travel.
Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. develops and markets baby care, wound care, health care and skin care products that address the needs of consumers and health care professionals and incorporate the latest innovations. This position will be working with portfolio heritage brands such as JOHNSON'S® Baby and BAND-AID® Brand, leading skin care brands such as AVEENO® and CLEAN & CLEAR® and McNeil OTC franchise products, such as Tylenol® and Motrin®.
This position will report to the IT Director for Product Safety, Regulator/Medical/Clinical Affairs, Call Center and Global QA Deployment in the Global Product Innovation & Quality IT organization.
Roles and responsibilities include: This position will help update and drive the long term, end-to-end global Consumer IT Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Clinical, and Surveillance strategy and programs. The IT Manager will also be responsible for the systems in each of these areas, strategic demand alignment, and project deployment across the Consumer sector. This position involves providing oversight and direction for multiple initiatives and platforms, driving global process/system adoption, and planning, implementing, and supporting a wide variety of business and IT initiatives across the Global Business Units (GBUs).
The IT Manager will play an integral role in updating and driving the IT strategy and GPIQ -IT strategy within her/his areas of responsibility. The leader will be responsible for: Updating and driving the long term, end-to-end global Consumer IT Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Clinical, and Surveillance strategy and programs; Implementing and managing a comprehensive and global service management framework and corresponding processes including incident management, request fulfillment, and change control, etc.; Delivering high operational service levels and client satisfaction results; Ensuring SLA's are established and meeting expectations of the business partners; Working with business partners to understand and define business drivers and requirements of the initiated program(s)/project(s); Ensuring design gap analysis and prototyping, test script authoring and execution, and deployment activities occur as needed; Maintaining Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Clinical, and Surveillance Systems Roadmaps in alignment with the Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Clinical, and Surveillance functional teams; Ensuring successful implementation within the region of global systems and services; Ensuring adherence to computer system validation, SDLC and IT compliance requirements; Defining, ensuring alignment and executing global strategies and solutions; partnering with clients to identify opportunities for using technology as an enabler to improve, automate, simplify business processes and optimize total cost of ownership; Driving business process improvement initiatives and championing the change management efforts of IT initiatives within the business partner community; Functioning as a leader for technology and applications and ensuring business partners are aware of new and emerging technologies; Conducting research on current processes and best practices, benchmarking with other internal J&J companies and external partners, and determining application of new technologies in the business partner organizations; Leading projects of high complexity; participating on any sized project; Acting as Global Liaison between the related IT organization business partners to ensure successful delivery of initiatives; Continuously managing business partner expectations; Focusing on people and talent development, resource management, and the creation of a high performing team in partnership with direct reports as applicable; Interfacing with suppliers and vendors to evaluate software, hardware, or services and make recommendations; Partnering with Vendors to ensure compliance with J&J standards, policies and procedures; Providing written and verbal communication including status reports, progress reports, and documentation to IT management and business partners; Consistently demonstrating knowledge seeking and sharing behaviors across IT organizational boundaries in the performance of daily work; Applying principles, concepts, and practices of the J&J Leadership Imperatives Model for the IT Manager Level; Ensuring that J&J information assets are appropriately identified and valued, and are protected by complying with and enforcing all local and worldwide security policies; Ensuring that security is considered and emphasized in all IT plans and actions.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum 8 years of relevant work experience and a BA/BS degree or at least 6 years work experience with an advanced degree or equivalent. Strong IT skills and background are required. Relevant/significant experience in Computer Systems Validation is required. Experience in managing Matrix-based project teams including internal resources and contractors is required. Experience in managing complex projects is required. Demonstrated process and systems design skills are required. Demonstrated leadership, influencing skills, and relationship management expertise is required.
Experience managing global responsibilities and partnering with globally dispersed team members and business partners is preferred. Strong interdependent partnering skills are preferred. Strategy development skills are preferred. ITIL Training and/or Certification is preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills to the executive level is preferred. Relevant work experience in support of Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Clinical organizations and/or Surveillance organizations is preferred. This position can be located in Morris Plains or Skillman, NJ or Fort Washington, PA and may require up to 25% regional travel.
