Level: Manager

Seeking an experienced professional to become a key member of Capital One's Engineering Lab team. The successful candidate will be accountable for the day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality and cost effective lab services, while participating in the fulfillment of customer's requests and the efforts to maintain and improve the lab infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

- Supervision
o Manage up to 3 people
o Measures and tracks performance of individuals
o Leads teams to enhance performance and achieve targets
o Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
o Create, implement and maintain various processes/standards to support the lab's functions and services

- Internal and External Initiatives

o Works on cross-functional projects. Partners with business customers to understand business needs and requirements to provide recommendations and improvements to processes, projects and services.
o Measures, tracks and reports on the lab's ability to deliver quality services
o Contributes to and implements standards and changes to systems and processes. May assist in performing process quality and compliance audits.
o Supports enterprise-wide compliance with enterprise standards, processes and policies
o Monitors service level agreements to maximize value to the business
o Participate and/or lead lab initiatives via system design improvements and performance enhancements

- Technical
o Administration and support of:
§ various operating systems and applications
§ Active Directory
§ networks and network devices
§ network services (ie DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc)
§ storage and storage devices
§ various types of hardware
o Design and implement systems to support the lab's core infrastructure

Qualifications
Job Qualifications:

This individual must have the ability and desire to establish and maintain positive business relationships with internal customers, while also engaging in related day-to-day activities/requests. This individual would also need to be a highly organized self-starter with the motivation to provide excellent service to our business and IT partners. Advanced technical skills are desired in various technologies.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
- 5 Years of IT experience
- 5 years of experience working with Microsoft technologies
- Windows Server 2003 and above
- Windows XP and above
- Active Directory
- 3 years of experience with designing and implementing LAN based applications/systems
- 3 year of experience working with virtualization technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems/MIS
- Microsoft technologies experience with the following:
- SQL Server 2005 and above
- Hyper-V
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Powerpoint
- Experience working with applications in a Unix/Linux environments
- Understanding of WWW and Internet applications
- Ability to manage and support networks and network hardware
- Very strong analytical skills
- Proven ability to establish and maintain successful relationships with internal and external partners/customers at all levels
- Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities
- Strong time management skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently on multiple projects and tasks at one time, ranging in complexity
- Strong team player
- Detail oriented
- Experience managing outsourced providers in the delivery of technical services (ie Infosys, Wipro, etc.)
- Experience with Oracle
- Experience with Middleware applications (ie Weblogic, JBoss, etc)
- Experience with managing storage solutions (ie SAN, NAS, etc)
