IT Manager - SQL Database

Yoh has a direct hire opportunity for an IT Manager/SQL Database to join our client in the Greenville, South Carolina area.

Job Responsibilities

- Manage a team of four to six (4-6) Senior and Mid-level SQL Database Administrators, including hiring, providing direction and support, evaluation, coaching and developing technical team members, time management etc.
- Responsible and accountable for management of the MSSQL Database Administration and overseeing the day-to-day activities related to the administration of MSSQL databases in a 24 x 7 environment. This includes design, implementation and maintenance of SQL 2000/2005/2008 and 2012 databases in compliance with application specifications and company policies, standards and procedures.
- Clear understanding of MSSQL Server architecture, MS SQL Server components and high availability solutions.
- Conduct Database Capacity Planning by working with infrastructure team to ensure necessary resources are allocated for all the databases.
- Develop Roadmaps to support business needs and improve operational efficiencies.
- Develop/Manage and maintain all the policies and procedures in all aspects of Database Management to meet the SLA's etc.
- Maintain Database backup/recovery procedures including Disaster Recovery (DR).
- Perform peer level design reviews on MS SQL Server Projects.
- Clear understanding of Enterprise level RDBMS disaster recovery and availability methodologies.
- Creates, maintains, and distributes a complete set of monthly, quarterly, and annual MS SQL operational KPI statistics and metrics that will support leadership's ability to make informed fact based decisions.
- Collaborates and understanding of with other RDBMS technologies (Oracle), SAN, monitoring, Windows Administration and virtual Server and Tape backup technologies.
- Consistently examines industry trends in the existing MS SQL Server RDBMS for improvement and efficiency and faster to Market and faster delivery to the business.

Job Qualifications

- BA/BS degree in either Information Technology or Computer Science
- At least four to six (4-6) years of IT work experience providing SQL Database Administration, design, implementation, maintenance, and/or support
- At least two to three (2-3) years of Team or Department Leadership experience
- At least one to two (1-2) years of demonstrated, successful Project Management experience
