SUMMARY:
An experienced and highly motivated Training & Development manager to lead learning professionals in delivering industry leading dynamic, interactive, and innovative learning solutions for Operations and Systems divisions within Travelers.

This position is responsible for:

Directing short and long-term planning strategies that include creating distance learning and virtual training organizational capabilities.

Evaluating systems specifications regarding training delivery requirements, transforming specifications into cost-effective, technically correct solutions, including the planning for and purchase of hardware and software to support the training effort.

Identifying, developing, designing and delivering of classroom, virtual and blended learning curriculum to meet the technical and leadership demands of employees, vendors and business partners.

Responsible for all training programs for a line of business or organization or multiple business centers or locations.

Providing overall leadership and direction to a training team including coaching, mentoring and development.
Directly managing small staff and large complex project/program.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct the development of a comprehensive learning technology strategy, learning programs and curriculum for management opportunity, employee development, and technical training.

Monitor the technical installation of training software to ensure flawless delivery of technical training.

Partner with management to assess and develop short and long-term planning strategies and initiatives.

Determines the best instructional methods for each training program or session.

Design, develop and deliver programs/curriculum to meet training initiatives and enhance productivity for business.
Develop appropriate measures to ensure training initiatives are effective and in alignment with business strategy.

Evaluate the results of training, determine effectiveness and recommend appropriate alternatives.

Monitor and control all related expenses, ensuring cost effective methods are utilized and business training needs are met.

Identify and deploy appropriate resources to meet client needs.

Identify, evaluate and negotiate vendor alternatives. Manage vendor quality.

Work with peers and business partners to identify areas where common training solutions can be leveraged across businesses.

Responsible for staff management and career development.

EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY:
College degree or equivalent experience in adult learning techniques, customer service and management skills.
Typically 8+ year-s professional experience.
Professional training credentials preferred.
Management experience preferred.
