IT Service Management Director

Role Summary/Key Objectives:

The Enterprise Testing Support Services Director will be responsible for building the short and long term strategies to provide robust,cost effective enterprise testing operations for the client.  Leads cross organization efforts to perform critical testing functions on behalf of the enterprise.

Specific areas of responsibility:

  • Ability to build an effective internal customer service organization and improve cost structures
  • Direct 3-4 Senior Managers with approximately 80resources (on/off-shore)
  • Define strategies to provide robust and cost effective enterprise solutions to deliver high quality, low cost testing services(including test automation, regression testing, test bed maintenance, etc.) 
  • Engage Strategic partners to fully utilize on-shore and off-shore resource model to allow for maximum flexibility and velocity.
  • Develop performance engineering standards and influence Technology Services groups to embed best practices early in project life cycle
  • Build robust performance testing capabilities for enterprise platforms (Mainframe,mid-range, distributed, web-based and mobile)
  • Define aggressive targets to implement enterprise best practices for test case automation and regression testing
  • Lead enterprise Operational Readiness Testing, Business Workflow and End-to-End Release Testing functions to ensure quality of release prior to moving to production.  Drives coordination of TCC Services in support of all releases
  • Lead enterprise efforts to reduce overall length of testing by implementing process and technology improvements
  • Incorporate best practices to create highly effective enterprise Testing operations
  • Define and track Service Level Agreements.  Proactively develop action plans to increase service levels and reduce cost of services
  • Leads implementation of several key initiatives on the TCC road map: building out additional capabilities in the release environment,upgrading ALM Performance Center, implementation of the enterprise
  • Automation Lab and test cycle efficiencies
  • Partner work with Technology Services Groups, Infrastructure Services, Enterprise Release Management and Test Competency Center leadership to build strategy for extending services and best practices across the enterprise
  • Develop meaningful relationships, underpinned by trust and credibility, with key stakeholders; TSGs, IT Ops, CIP, external vendors and other TCC functions
  • Build a high performing organization that brings measurable value to the business

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership in Quality Assurance and Testing Operations - with an emphasis on how to build and run test environments,operational readiness and performance testing in high transaction volume, highly integrated platforms (Mainframe, mid-range and distributed applications)
  • Strong interpersonal skills including, but not limited to: problem solving, decision making, influencing, change management, written and oral communications along with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Experienced ineffectively navigating a highly matrixed organization
  • Strong strategic vendor management experience for on-shore, off-shore and near-shore engagements
  • 10-15 years of years of experience in IT roles with a demonstrated progression into leadership roles
  • Extensive knowledge of testing tools such ALM Performance Center(Performance Center, QTP/UFT and Defect Management) and other tools such as Hammer for IVR
  • Healthcare industry knowledge is preferable
  • Experience in a high transaction volume business domain is preferable
  • ITIL certification is preferable

This is a six month, contract-to-hire opportunity. You will be assigned as a consultant to a Fortune 500 company in Hartford, CT. At the end of six months, our client has the right to offer you full time employment. 

During the contract-to-hire period, you will be expected to be on-site in Hartford, CT at least four days a week.

You will report to an IT Senior Director/Director.

The client's interview process will consist of a phone screen, an on-site interview with three IT. leaders and a final face-to-face interview with a V.P. level executive.
