Description:

This is a contingent position providing support to the A2 Directorate at Hickam AFB, HI. Candidate must have possessed a TS/SCI eligibility within previous 12-months. We prefer local applicants as relocation funding is not available.

The Network Engineer shall apply knowledge of networking protocols, LAN/WAN architectures, equipment, services, standards, and technology to support classified networks supporting Command and Control (C2) and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems. Incumbent must be service-focused and understand networking principals of routing, switching and be able to manage and understand various VLAN configurations; a thorough knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking is required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs design, installation, troubleshooting, and support of local and wide-area networks hardware, and software applications. Assists with the development and implementation of systems specifications, designs, integration, testing, documentation and maintenance of network infrastructures.
Should be able to implement network monitoring, configuration and inventory tools to simplify and manage a growing network environment; be able work in a datacenter and quickly understand from physical cabling to the logical architecture diagrams, and be able to work with other engineers and management to solve problems and develop solutions. Equivalent knowledge of a CCNA at a minimum is required. Experience in network administration, Brocade and Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls, CiscoWorks, TACLANE, network monitoring applications, network encryption technology, and switch network technology is required and must be demonstrated in candidates credentials in order to be considered for the position. Candidates must prove recent experience with installation, operation and maintenance of network equipment from various vendors.
The candidate must be able to work independently, as well as work within a dynamic, fast-paced, challenging team environment. Candidate must be versatile in learning emerging technologies to support evolving customer requirements. Candidate must be detailed-oriented and possess strong written and verbal communications skills. Must be able to develop strong working relationships with personnel at all levels and be willing to seek out the communications needs for the customer. Incumbent must be willing to work long hours and weekends in support of Exercises and Contingencies, as required. Occasional travel may be required. Knowledge of the PACAF bases is desired. Advanced knowledge of Network Security fundamentals and DISA STIG compliance is strongly desired.
MINIMUM
Required Qualifications: This position requires a minimum of 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree. Alternatively, 6 years additional experience may be substituted without a degree or 4 years additional related experience with an Associate's degree. A CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification in compliance with DoDD 8570 is mandatory. Candidate should currently possess an active Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI clearance.

CACI POSITION SUMMARY:

With a wide range of knowledge, evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes, and sets standards. Maintains a complex range of computer network components and systems. Works with other network professionals as directed to coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues and communicate changes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installs and configures new server and Workstation computer systems and associated hardware and software components.

Provides client consulting and training on the interfacing and use of the network facilities.

Plans and coordinates computer network initiatives.

Researches, evaluates, and recommends new computer network equipment and technologies.

Collaborates with other technical staff and management in the testing of new software and network technologies.

Devises solutions to operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.

Maintains timely and complete documentation of all daily and project work, using standard methods and procedures.

Provides internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application developers, computer operations, Workstation support, company management and departmental clients.

Keeps abreast of relevant technologies and maintains selected technical certifications.

May review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modifications.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires bachelor's degree in or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
