Description

The Open Source Technology Center within the Software and Services Group is looking for software developers to develop and enable the Chrome Operating System on new Intel architectures that span Intel's device platforms. In this position you will be responsible for developing and enhancing Linux components and the core OS stack to optimize media experience for the end user on Intel Gen graphics platforms.

Qualifications

B.S or M.S in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering or equivalent; BS + 8 years of experience, or MS + 6 years experience in a combination of the following

Must-have skills:
6 years of hands-on C/C++ experience
4 years' experience in at least one of the following areas:

Linux user-space system level development
Linux user-space library development

Highly desirable experience/skills:
- Embedded Linux development, debug and test
- Desktop Linux, or Android or Chrome OS porting experience
- Working with open source software community, including success with getting code accepted in upstream open source projects
- Demonstrated knowledge and development experience working with both hardware and software codec solutions in area of video and audio decode/encode.
- Experience with image/video capture and rendering use cases, especially when used in hardware abstraction layers for multiple platforms.
- Experience with multiple media frameworks including Android (libstagefright) and Gstreamer.
- Experience with video streaming protocols, RTP/RTSP, HTTP/HTTPS (live and progressive).
- Strong knowledge and proven experience developing optimized C/C++ code on multiple platforms.
- Solid background in unit testing, system testing and debugging techniques.
