Our client is the leading computer components manufacturer looking for an individual to perform setup and maintenance of test systems for debugging customer issues. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the debug team with system setup (HW & SW), hardware modifications, BIOS and Flash updates on motherboards and add-in cards, system debug and troubleshooting in support of debugging efforts.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years industry experience as a Validation or Engineering Technician, including responsibilities for supporting and setting up lab systems and infrastructure
- Knowledge of current PC industry, particularly cutting edge software and hardware
- Extensive, hands-on experience building and configuring PCs from components, and troubleshooting issues
- Experience setting up different network configurations in both Linux and Windows
- Experience installing and setting up Enterprise versions of Linux (both RedHat and SUSE) and Windows (7, 8, 2008 Server)
- Experience supporting product debug in a fast-paced, dynamic lab environment
- Experience with defect tracking databases
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Must be detail oriented
- Passion for quality, ability to thrive in a challenging environment and enjoy working as an integral member of the product development team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and works well in a team
- Self-driven individual who is capable and excited to learn about new technologies and willing to adapt quickly to change
- No travel/telecommuting
This contract position is expected to be 12-18 months in duration.
