Description
Job Description: Software architect is responsible for the technical direction of a project. Makes high level design choices for the software structure, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms. Determines coding practices, development tools, and validation requirements. Performs pathfinding and surveys technologies. Interacts with multiple technologists in the company and within the industry as well as between developers and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
-10+ years in software/systems development and managing engineering teams
-Experience managing early-stage projects, possibly with start-up companies
-Operates with minimal supervision within overall framework
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels of colleagues and customers, from interns to C-suite
-Demonstrated significant innovation and leadership in software products
-Demonstrated ability to develop software concepts and translate them into designs, implementation plans, and detailed statements of work for execution by others
-Demonstrated strong history of innovation and achievement in systems design, including systems software and several areas beyond software
-Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop junior talent
-Demonstrated ability to act as a catalyst with external actors and technologies to achieve goals
-Demonstrated ability to develop and execute software strategy
-Professional passion as demonstrated by history of excellence, product in the field, and customer/market success
-Broad software and systems software development experience
-Management experience
-Protocol design experience
-Sufficient (Linux/Unix) Kernel experience to personally explore or demonstrate designs with code
-Experience with secure software design and security models
-Experience with systems resource management and control and software design for the purpose
-Experience with robust software design
-Experience with storage software and filesystems
-Experience with concurrent systems design and programming
-Understanding of Unix, Windows and hypervisor Kernel architectures
-Understanding of testing methodologies and issues
-Understanding of performance oriented design
