Software Engineer - 719911
Description
Job Description: Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software.
In This position, you will work in a team environment to develop software tools to predict the yield of Intel's future products in all market segments and all hardware configurations. You will be required to integrate knowledge on a diverse area across chip design and manufacturing into the simulation tool. You will define and implement algorithms that optimize chip performance and power in order for yield to meet the forecasted demand. You will be expected to learn at a fast pace through dynamic interaction with silicon technology development team, chip architects, circuit designers, and product testing teams. Your continued fast learning will need to happen in many topics, including (1) silicon devices, metal interconnect, statistical process variation; (2) circuit timing, power, thermal behavior, and reliability; (3) CPU/SoC architecture and (4) product testing flow. You are expected to apply knowledge in software design and numerical algorithm to improve user experience, simulation runtime, and quality of the software.
Qualifications
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through your educational level research and/or relevant job/internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate-level coursework knowledge in VLSI device, interconnect, analog/digital circuits, and statistics.
Experience with CAD tools such as circuit simulation, layout creation, parasitics extraction, timing analysis and power estimation.
High level of proficiency in object-oriented programming using C++ or Java and some Scripting languages such as PERL, TCL or Python.
CAD algorithms for circuit simulation, SPICE modeling, statistical simulation, optimization, and computational electromagnetic, analog-mixed-signal circuit validation, and digital signal processing.
Experience with design and analysis of digital analog circuits from RTL to validation using CAD tools.
Software development experience.
Analytical or numerical modeling of analog/mixed-signal circuits, beyond-classroom experience in software development for consumer and industrial applications.
