Job Description: The SSG/SSD Client Software and Optimization group has an opening for a software performance engineer to work on technologies for Core and Atom based devices. We are looking for software engineers who will run workloads on various systems, collect data, use performance tools to help analyze the problems, and make appropriate source code changes to surmount the problem in an iterative cycle. In this position, you will be analyzing the full software stack based on Intel Architecture (IA), and analyzing and implementing opportunities for power and performance tuning, optimization and differentiation. You will be expected to work across Intel Groups/Divisions.

Qualifications

Qualifications
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through your educational level research and/or relevant job/internship experiences.
-Must have a Bachelor degree or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science.
-1 year software development skills in C and/or C++ programming on the Windows or Linux operating systems environment including good debugging skills.

Preferred Skills
-Experience with Linux based operating systems.
-Knowledge of open source OS internals (Linux)
-A strong understanding of computer architectures and familiarity with Microprocessor architectures.
-Knowledge of advanced web technologies such as Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, and or browser internals.
-Experience with device power measurement and analysis.
-Experience with application profiling, performance analysis, identification of bottlenecks highly desired.
