Excellent opportunity for an individual with a heavy Linux background, experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC), interest in the Mobile and Social Media space, and is looking to dive into the world of Big Data!
This a heavily data intensive company that has revolutionized how social data is discovered and dispersed. With a global audience and expanding engineering staff, the DevOps Engineer will play an integral role for the company in 2013 and on.
If you have the following skill set and experience you'll fit right in:
- 2+ years of Linux experience
- Experience with Big Data - Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce
- High Performance Computing (HPC) Experience
- Strong analytical work experience, ideally within a large data/web site analysis role
- Experience with Perl, PHP or other Scripting languages
- Experience with data mining, data warehousing, and data processing technologies required
- A Bachelors Degree in Math, Statistics or Computer Science or equivalent work experience necessary
What you'll be doing:
- Responsible for implementing a robust data cluster as a platform to store unstructured data spanning in the order of terabytes
- Solve challenges in distributed computing, high-performance computing and high-availability environments
- Design and implement high-performance, highly-available distributed storage and processing platforms
- Design and build systems that can collect and analyze data from thousands of hosts
- Build performance reporting tools for internal customers
- Provide analytical and decision-making support for key company initiatives
- Work closely with all business units to gather requirements
