The Cyber Security Business Unit has a career opportunity for a for Network Engineer Service Engineer at Hickam,AFB, HI.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The job of the Network Engineer is to performs design, installation, troubleshooting, and support of local and wide-area networks hardware, software and applications. The ideal candidate will apply knowledge of network protocols, LAN/WAN architectures, equipment, services, standards, and technology to support multiple, independent data networks of different DoD security classification levels which InterconnecT Command and Control (C2) and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems. The environment is service focused on routing and switching and VLAN technologies. Thorough knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies is needed.

Some travel required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Implement network monitoring, configuration and inventory tools to simplify and manage the growing network environment,

-Ability to understand and work the entire Data Center from the physical cabling to the logical architecture diagrams, and be able to work with other engineers and management to solve problems and develop solutions.

-Equivalent knowledge of a CCNA is a bare minimum.

-Experience in network administration, network domain controllers, Brocade and Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls, CiscoWorks, TACLANE, network monitoring technology, network encryption technology, and switch network technology is required and must be demonstrated in candidates credentials in order to be considered for the opportunity.

-Experience with installation, operation and maintenance of network equipment from various vendors.

Qualifications:
BASIC REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience. Additional training, technical certification, and/or years experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

-DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certified - Preferably Security +.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Work independently as well as work within a dynamic, fast-paced, challenging team environment.

-Candidate must be detailed oriented and possess strong written and verbal communications skills.

-Candidate must be versatile in learning emerging technologies to support evolving customer requirements.

-Ability to develop strong working relationships with personnel at all levels and be willing to seek out the communications needs for the customer.

-Knowledge of the Government Customer's infrastructure is desired.

-Advanced knowledge of Network Security fundamentals and DISA STIG compliance is strongly desired.
