Position Description:

Lead and manage the design and implementation of medium to large scale cross-functional projects. This position provides analytical and technical support to the VALIC Operations and other business units on complex issues.

Within the first six (6) to twelve (12) months the person in this position will be expected to:
1. Understand systems, processes, products and the impact to the project and business objectives
2. Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities and adjust work accordingly to meet target deadlines

This position is responsible for:
1. Evaluate and assess multiple options for business solutions
2. Successfully communicate the underlying business logic behind decisions
3. Drive for successful implementation of projects
4. Develop and maintain tasks lists and project milestones

Position Requirements
The best people doing this job will need strong analytical skills and insurance system knowledge. And have the ability to prioritize and adjust work accordingly to meet target deadlines. Someone who takes pride in their work and is a self-starter that can work independently both under pressure and with limited supervision.

Experience and Skills Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree and related work experience.
2. Familiar with advanced analysis, design, and testing techniques
3. Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
4. Experience with MS Project and Access are a plus
5. Experience with internal systems such as V-Systems, AGILEnet & AWD a plus
6. Organized, with the ability to complete multiple tasks under various deadlines with minimal supervision
7. Strong influence, leadership, prioritization and adaptability skills
8. Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively within and across departments

Please Note: The position may be hired at level 19 based on the candidate's experience and knowledge of VALIC systems and processes.
