IT Manager, Actuary Support

Position Summary
As the IT Manager of Actuary Support you will oversee system design, development, and system maintenance of actuary systems across multiple platforms; manage and/or conduct technical design, testing, implementation, control and maintenance of application development. Responsible for all applications systems issues within a single cost center.
Other Responsibilities Include:
Communicate with technical peers, such as database designers, Business Systems Analysts, business/user group and Management Information Systems Offices (MISOs). Act as the liaison between a specific application group and other parties.
Review business requirement documents produced by the BSAs for completeness and accuracy; ensure the Architecture guidelines have been followed in the design and specifications are prepared within one application and adherence to systems development life cycle.
Manage staff to ensure alignment of departmental activities with organizational goals. Coordinate resources and activities to achieve maximum expense control and productivity. Identify and resolve issues. Establish, develop, implement, and review department policies and procedures. Provide recommendations on pay, performance management, employment and staffing decisions. May be responsible for the administrative functions of the group (budget, headcount, etc.)
Manage/supervise staff of two or more employees, consultants, and/or fixed price staff, establish application project plans, allocate resources and conduct performance appraisals.
Organizational Structure:
This position will report to the Director of IT Actuary Support who reports to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Position Requirements
The Ideal Candidate will have:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field. 6-9 years of experience in application development. Knowledge of financial services and actuarial systems a plus.
